Team Sumerset Sponsors Fourth Blood Drive
Tuesday, Apr. 24 2007Giving Blood Saves Lives. Period!
It’s that simple. It’s that important. Every three seconds, someone in our area needs a blood transfusion. In less than an hour, you can become a hero to someone you will never meet, but whose life you have changed forever. When you give blood, you give someone another smile, another hug, another birthday. People of all ages need blood — adults who require dozens of pints for their surgery or a baby who may need only a few tablespoons of the precious fluid to survive. Either way, you can participate in the act of improving and saving lives.
For the third summer in a row the Members of Team Sumerset organized a blood donation drive through the Central Kentucky Blood Center. Good Job, Team Sumerset!
A record thirty-three individuals volunteered to donate and thirty pints of blood were collected, including the courageous donations of many first-time participants. We are proud to be contributors to Pulaski County, Kentucky, USA!

Team Sumerset Remembers September 11, 2001
Monday, Sep. 11 2006The members of Team Sumerset joined together for a five minute moment of silence in the Final Finish area to memorialize and remember the events of five years ago on September 11, 2001. The following words were read to Team Sumerset by Molly Rose, VP Human Resources.
“People like us in workplaces around the world remember September 11th as a day of tragedy, sorrow, remembrance, honor and, yes, celebration. Let’s remember those 2,700 individuals who lost their lives and the families and friends they left behind. Let’s honor all the heroes who fought to save lives that day. That day has certainly opened our eyes to a greater appreciation and awareness of the preciousness of life. There is no greater way to honor someone that to live, love and laugh in unity and togetherness.
Let us spend the remainder of this day in celebration. Celebrate their lives by celebrating all life, including your own. Sumerset salutes those who currently serve in the military or who have previously served our country in the military.
Additionally, Sumerset wants to express our gratitude to each of you, as a member of Team Sumerset, for your continued service to this company.
Now let us pause for five minutes - one minute to represent each year.
Thank you for your participation and may God continue to Bless America!”
