Sumerset Houseboats Announces 2009 Model Year Changes

Somerset, KY — Sumerset Houseboats, the industry’s leading aluminum hull houseboat manufacturer, announces receiving the NMMA Customer Satisfaction Award and unveils improvements for their 2009 model year. The nation’s oldest and largest custom houseboat builder continually strives to adapt to their customer’s needs and improve on their marketplace offerings.

This validation of our corporate philosophy joined with our continual focus on refining and improving our product, casts a bright light on our future. Design Improvements for 2009 include:

• Upgrade to a powder-coated trim installed between side wall cleats.
• Re-engineered hull design to provide additional interior hull space and to allow the vessel to sit slightly higher in the water.
• Upgrade to a standard installation of simulated teak on the swim platform and eliminate carpet.
• Finish work on interior hatch entry with steps and trim.
• Adjust placement of closet lights forward, toward door for better visibility.
• New design fiberglass party top.
• Upgrade to Gold Braid rope as standard on all Sumerset boats for tie out ropes and cleat ropes.
• Upgrade the HVAC central heat and air systems to Puron.
• Upgrade all faucets to Delta brand.
• Redesign arches and supports to use 3/16 aluminum to improve production times.
• Change placement of breaker for auxiliary fuel tank pump from engine hatch to interior electric panel.
• Upgrade quality of light bulb for can lights on the boats.
