Re: RJ Corman Houseboat

Dear Steve,

Rick Corman suggested that I might come down to your plant last week with one of his best welders, Mr. J.J. Heckman. Mr. Heckman is an accomplished welder who has fabricated boat shells in Florida and the Gulf of Mexico. I personally have seen his skills on several projects, and believe him to be the best I have ever seen.

Mr. Heckman and I visited the plant on March 14, and I am pleased to report that both he and I were extremely impressed with the quality of all the welds on the aluminum hull. Aluminum is very susceptible to warpage with the heat applied in welding, and the spacing and penetration of all the welds showed immense knowledge and experience in the welding process.

I wanted to write to you to let you know how impressed Mr. Heckman and I were with the quality and workmanship we have seen to date. I would like to commend you on that quality, experience, and workmanship we have seen at Sumerset Houseboats.

Sincerely,
Brian D. Sawyer, AIA Architect
